Advocacy for Lasting Change

SOS Children’s Villages in Burundi actively promotes a rights‑based advocacy approach aimed at creating an enabling political, institutional, and social environment where all children’s rights are respected, protected, and fulfilled.

SOS Children’s Villages participates in national advocacy frameworks. These collective efforts contribute to policy dialogue and reforms, stepping toward strengthening the protection of children’s rights in Burundi.

To enhance coherence and impact, a structured Advocacy Strategy was developed to guide engagement with policymakers, institutions, and civil society actors. This strategy strengthens SOS Children’s Villages’ ability to advocate effectively for children’s rights across sectors, including education, protection, health, and social inclusion, ensuring that the best interests of the child remain at the centre of decision‑making.
