Partnership Guidelines
Our Commitment to Responsible Partnerships
At SOS Children’s Villages Burundi, the wellbeing and protection of children are at the heart of everything we do. To uphold this commitment, we do not engage in partnerships with companies involved in the production or sale of alcohol, tobacco, arms and weapons, or gambling activities (with the exception of regulated charitable initiatives).
We also maintain a strict stance against child labour. We will not partner with organizations that engage in or support child labour in any part of their operations or supply chains. These principles reflect both our values and our responsibility to safeguard children’s rights at all times.
Marketing and Brand Use
As a non-profit organization operating within the legal framework of Burundi, SOS Children’s Villages Burundi ensures that all partnerships and marketing activities remain compliant with applicable regulations.
While we gratefully recognize and acknowledge our partners publicly, we are not permitted to advertise or promote commercial products or services. Instead, our partnerships are centered on shared impact and raising awareness about the needs of vulnerable children.
We encourage our partners to support visibility by including our website and messaging in their communication materials, helping amplify the mission and reach of SOS Children’s Villages. We are always happy to provide approved messaging to ensure consistency and accuracy.
The SOS Children’s Villages name and logo are protected and may only be used with prior written authorization. Any use of our brand must be governed by a formal agreement that clearly outlines the scope and purpose of usage.
Cause-Related Marketing and Ethical Promotion
For partnerships involving product-based fundraising or cause-related marketing, transparency is essential. Any initiative where a portion of proceeds supports SOS Children’s Villages must clearly communicate this to the public in line with good practice and applicable regulations in Burundi.
Products or campaigns linked to our work may be subject to review to ensure alignment with our values and standards. Formal agreements are required before any public use of our name or logo in such initiatives.
While we are committed to supporting and guiding our partners, we encourage all organizations to seek appropriate legal advice to ensure full compliance with local laws and requirements.
By working together within these shared principles, we can build partnerships grounded in trust, integrity, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of children.
